Would You Jehovah

Would You Jehovah

Would I know you? If you called my name?
Would you, my God, withdraw in shame?
For a daughter not knowing her masters voice?
Would I have lived to make the right choice?
Would my time on earth have been spent well?
Would my heart have changed from the day I fell?
Would the blood spilt for me have been worth or not?
Would the soul it purchased be worth being bought?
If I knew you and cried, kissing your feet
Praying in love that we would one day meet
Would you let me thrust my hand into your side
And see your Godly face, free of man’s pride?
Would you tell me the stories of your walk on land?
Would you let me feel the nail prints in your hand?
Would you present me to the father with joy and pride?
Glad to have me seated on your right side?
Where I could give glory forever more
To you, Jehovah, whom I adore

Employment wah wah wah waaaaaah

Hey friends! We are coming up on our four month wedding anniversary here in a few days. Georgia has been... well, I don't know! Give me a few more months and maybe I'll have an answer for ya ;0)  jk!  Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that things are going well.  We love being married and are SOOOO happy together!  Neither of us can believe how well things worked out and how perfect we are for other another- WE ARE SO BLESSED!

So,  I found a job... I'm making sandwiches at.......

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-aaaa-ay.

As mentioned on my facebook it's a little disconcerting/humbling/humiliating/embarrassing/
demeaning/frustrating but I am glad to have work to keep me busy and the extra cash has saved our bacon.   I have continued to look for work in my field.  I interviewed with Head Start in Augusta this week and hope to hear from them soon.  I also applied to about 3 positions that all pay well on Fort Gordon through USA jobs and hope to hear from any of them!

Danny is doing well, he worked one half day this week and one whole day! Go sweetie :) lol he was excited to go to work today because he had brand new boots!  His old ones were about to get him in trouble so we finally found the $ and got him some new ones.  They switched his schedule as well.  He now is working 12 hour shifts from 6:30 -6:30.  He's no longer allowed to take breaks, so they're long days.

Hope I get a full time job soon for more than minimum, it would help a lot! It's hard when I don't have any connections here.  Hopefully my credentials and experience will be enough!

3 Month Anniversary Surprise!

For some reason we made a big deal out of our three month anniversary.... I think we felt like it was more of an accomplishment! Haha.  But really.  So I put together a romantic candle lit living room pic-nic surprise! Then I did some research on the Dating Diva's website and found a fun game to play. The game I found involved different flavors of chap stick and kisses xoxox  : D

Then I got to work cooking and setting up our pic nic!  First I took some Hershey's kisses and pulled out all of the logo strips and wrote my own messages on thin strips of paper and re-wrapped them in the foil....

Then I made a little trail of the special kisses from the door to the living room where the pic-nic would be...

  .....and found some candles...... :)

Then I set up the pic-nic! We had a chicken cabbage salad for dinner and I made a chocolate sour cream cake from scratch for dessert!  Mostly just because we lost the lid to the sour cream tub... isn't that ROMANTIC? haha

So want to know what happened? I lit the candles a few minutes before I KNEW he would get home, he gets off at six thirty, gets home at seven. So I waited,

                                                                                   and waited,
                                                                                                                        and waiiiited

He got home super late and there was wax dripping everywhere!!!! I kept running around putting plastic under the  candles so that they would still look pretty! By the time he got home some were barely still burning anything and there was wax all over the carpet :) anyway, it's the thought that counts! Danny was out getting me chocolate that's why he was so late :) It was really nice, we had a great time.

HELLO HOME IN GEORGIA

Hi everyone! I just wanted to give you a little update on how we are doing!  We are getting used to GA even though it's "stupid hot."  We will have been here for 4 months soon and are coming up on our 4 month anniversary!  We both  cannot believe how happy we are and how perfect we are for each other, we are very, very blessed.

Decorating the apartment has been a work in progress as we have the money.  Here are some pics, it's not quite done yet :)

Here's my sweet Danny reading his sciptures! He has a thing for candles..? So we have a huge candle as our centeripeice.  I later got some decorative balls to put around the base on the plate as well as a blue and bamboo placemat underneath.  I LOVE our Blue RUG! It was a great deal and amazing quality. rugsusa.com, I highly reccomend it! I was worried about ordering one but I love it.

Here's my latest pinterest project! it's a wreath  from antique book pages. Love it! So much fun, inexpensive, and easy. Most of our decor has been on a budget. Well, basically all of it. But it can be done! I got the decorative balls on sale for 50% off. The candle we used a 40% Coupon on. The Side tables we used a spend 50 get ten off coupon on when they were only 25 to begin with.  The rug was in clearance and that blue mat I found at the dollar store!

I HATE the entertainment center. Oh well :) I plan on finding some way to hide all of the gadgets with woven baskets or something.  I still want to do something with the side table, a couple lamps maybe I just haven't found the right ones.  All of our white furniture pieces we found at The Christmas Tree Shop.  We still need frames too....

Here's a better pick of the curtains.  They are a woven looking brown, blue and cream paisley pattern from Target
Entry And kitchen table complete with army uniform jacket.

This is our bed and night stands. We have matching dresser drawers. I will have to put up a better photo, I know have side lamps with golden shades and a canvas hung above with the Idaho Falls temple on it as well as some other decor... We had to put away our nice comforter for the summer because it was  too hot.  That's why I haven't taken a pic.

Well this is home so far!

After posting all of these I REALLY wanted lamps for the end tables.  Look what I found! There were only two, aren't they perfect? :)

Our Story

Hey friends and family! Its almost two weeks from the big day! I have been thinking I should write our story because so many have been asking. And lurking... and afraid to ask... lol and then there are those of you I rarely speak to but ask me if i'm going to marry the guy when I run into you at he grocery store after dating him for a month! :D No joke! "Hey Megan how are you?" I'm good thanks how are you? "Doing great! I saw on facebook you were dating somebody, you going to marry him?" ........ ?...........Well, I said yes so there! lol Here we go!

Our Story
My branch president said there were only three ways out of the singles
ward.
1. Death
2. Moving
3. Marriage
It scared me. I had thought about moving. I didn't want to think about dieing and after looking around the room and realizing that after graduating from BYUI my dating pool was limited to this room... I signed up for an online dating site. (No offense Bonnevile branch, you're all great people :) ) The nine months I was on 4 different sites before I met Danny is a different story.

I met Danny on LDS planet in August of 2011. Danny is in the army and was in AIT training on an Air Force base in TX. By this time I had decided a few things about online dating; first no dating people more than three hours away. Second I would not date anyone in the military. Third, no mission don't bother. (Note, although ignorant as these may seem I had tried every one and not had good experiences.)

I saw Danny's picture and profile featured in the side box. He looked cute, I clicked it, read his profile and did nothing. (I had decided that just like face to face dating I would leave the work to the real men.) He saw I had looked at his profile and sent me a message asking me how I was doing. I responded, he was away from his computer and apologized then said he would text me if I was ok with that and asked for my number. I was impressed that he'd asked for it instead of just giving it to me and leaving that part to the girl. It seemed pretty fast to share that kind of information and I was generally very cautious about handing my number out but for some reason this time I gave it to him.

He started texting me that Friday, August 5. We had a lot of fun talking back and forth and skyped for the first time on Sunday. From then on whoever woke up first texted the other. He was very charming and I waited a long time for the catch. But he kept texting me. He kept being kind and sweet and the only catch there was was he, himself. He could tell I didn't trust guys very easily and was patient with me. We would skype as soon as he got out of class and I got off work for a couple of hours every day and even more on the weekends. It seemed balanced and we really enjoyed one another's company. I am going to tell you right now that the biggest benefit to online dating is the opportunity it gives you, if you're both open an honest, to building something based solely on communication. All physical aspects other than that persons face on the camera are removed and you have a real opportunity to explore another persons mind and discover how they think. Having said that- real relationships require more than talk alone. :)

We were exclusive but both thought it would be weird to consider ourselves as a boyfriend girlfriend thing. But, soon after we realized that the feelings were there and that we loved each other. We had planned on meeting when he was done with his training but decided we needed to see one another sooner.

Danny got me a ticket and little Megan from Idaho who went to college 12 miles away from her mommies house went to meet a stranger... on an Air Force base... by herself... in Texas. A lot of people have asked how my parents felt about this. I had told them enough about him and things he had said that they were comfortable with it and trusted me and my judgement.

I flew to Texas to meet him in the middle of October. I had never even flown by myself! Let alone across the country to meet a man I was in love with! I had to catch three different planes to get there starting in SLC. (Thanks again Nicole for taking me to the airport and breaking into your grandma's house so we would have a place to sleep lol!) That was the most nerve wracking experience of my life! I was so excited and nervous and I had stranger after stranger come talk to me at different airports. On my last flight to San Angelo I sat next to an elderly woman who could have been my Grandmother's sister they looked so alike. It was comforting and she kept reassuring me that I was glowing and that he would adore me. She was just as as excited as I was by the time I landed. By then I had been so scared out of my mind that I didn't care anymore! Just get me off of this plane!

The San Angelo airport is really small. I came off the flight and after taking some deep breaths and giving myself a pep talk in the bathroom I went down the escalator. I saw him first waiting at the bottom. He smiled and I ran up and hugged him, walking right in front of the old lady from the plane.. I still don't know if she saw, but I hope so. :)
We met at the airport and walked out holding hands.

That trip went really well. Better than either of us had ever imagined! It was all there. He was just as cute and funny and sweet in person as he'd ever been over the net. He held my hand and walked me around base telling me how cute I was every five seconds lol! Our first kiss was that night in the middle of a lamp lit street on base. It was a great trip and probably the most expensive date either of us had ever been on lol but he always let me know it was worth it. I got there Friday night and left Monday morning.

We met again in November in Florida after he'd finished his training. It was fantastic! We went to the beach and had more time together. We talked about how

we'd feel ok being engaged at this point while we sat in the sand and watched the sun set.

Danny came to visit me in Idaho for Christmas a month later. We got to see each other for
almost ten days. The family loved him and we enjoyed spending the holidays together. Danny
proposed on Christmas Day :). Her wrapped the ring box in layers and layers of wrapping paper.
When I got to the end and found an empty box he was kneeling beside me and asked me to
marry him! I said yes :)

We are getting married on March 17, 2012. If any of you are honestly questioning our sanity ,
don't worry. We would be questioning yours too. :) It happens lol, people fall in love. That's

Our Story.

FIRST DATE: WHAT NOT TO DO

So I have to share one of the most traumatic experiences in my dating life with you, here, on my blog. Probably because, more than anything it's much needed therapy!!! What? What horrible dating situation did I go through that would cause me to need blogging therapy? Yup, you guessed it, a first date.

Before I went out with this "person", as the date plans were being made it was suggested that I drive to meet him in Rexburg..... errrrrr, well, ok, but just because I was going to go see my good friend Traci in Rexburg that day anyway. Other than the drive date he planned sounded pretty fun and even romantic! I was soooo excited! Feeding ducks and having a pick-nick? ok! :)

About 30 min before meeting up he texts me about how he had a nap and had a crazy dream.... "Oh yeah?" So, this "person" tells me how he dreamed that we were out on our date and I was ALL OVER HIM. How I wanted to make out and kept putting his arm around me..... haha ha. Ha. No.

So he came to pick me up and we went to our little duck bread throwing location. On the way to the nature park he told me how he's been in school for years and changed his major five times and still has three more semesters. When we got out of the car i saw we had no pick-nick, just bread and some drinks. He asked me which drink I would like, I asked if he already had any preference, when he said "Oh no." I picked the Orange Cream Sobe. He whined and complained that he wanted that one! I offered to trade but he wouldn't take it back.

The ducks had flown south for the summer. (According to the "person" who took me to feed them.) The few ducks we did see were uninterested in the food. After a couple throws I just held my bread in my hand.... I didn't want to waste it. My date continued to chuck bits of bread at their heads. Commenting on geese mating rituals etc. Then he turned to talking about marriage... how he WANTS to get married SO bad! How he is terrified of marriage! How all of his siblings have rough marriages..... etc... etc... errrrrrrrrrrrr...... oh and how he is SO sick of dating (why did you ask me on a date then?) how he is so sick of immature judgmental girls! (More on this later when we get into that good ol' can o' warms called... exes.) He told me how all of his friends are either married or engaged and he just cannot figure out why all of his friend's wives hate him.........................

Eventually we got bored with the non-bread interested feathered friends (and marriage talk) and he suggested we sit down on a bench and talk for a while. He told me how he didn't even do one of his assignments for a writing class that's not for his major, how he has considered plagiarizing the final paper. I didn't even know what to say! He saw my face and said "Oh i'm just kidding, I wouldn't but I want to. Now you're judging me!" Ok.... then he went off on this big thing about how his mom caused him to have ADD by sitting him with a gaming station as a kid. (I guess that's what his paper was about.) A little later he started in on the honor code... how his roommate who is engaged is so dumb because he insists on opening the blinds while they're alone in the apartment together. He informed me that the honor code is about keeping the spirit of the law instead of the letter. Because "after all the only reason we have the honor code is to keep us from fornicating." Now, i'm not sure the word fornication should ever be used in conversation. And it's definitely not a topic worthy of addressing on a first date. Of this, I am fairly positive. Either way, it's not the spirit of the law, it's a flippin' contract signed by you!

I don't remember what sparked talking about exes. I think it was something about how lame Rexburg is and how you run into them on campus... and he said he wanted to punch his ex in the face. I was pretty shocked, he again told me not to judge him and said that if I knew what she put him through I would push her in the lake for him! Riiiight. He informed me that he has no trouble getting dates and that he can talk to any girl, stranger or no.

He started asking me about making out... pretty sure he was trying to feel out if i'd have a ncmo. errrrr he periodically brought up how I had been "all over him" in his dream. He said he didn't think ncmo was something that would keep you out of the celestial kingdom. I said never, ever never ever would I do that, that I only kiss people I like and know. "Oh, so you don't like kissing huh?" That's not what I said but sure, you can think that!!! :)

Oh and did I mention how he told me he is a master manipulator?

My dark shorts started burning my legs sitting on the bench. Enough so that I turned up the hem to expose "sun burns" above my knee... he asked if I wanted them kissed better..... awkward.

I felt his finger tip nudge my booty. I scooted away, felt it again. And again. Till I got up and moved.

Would you like to know how such and such fish mates? Oh let me tell you, I learned all about it on this amazing date! The female consumes the male, all except his sex organs. WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS? I don't even know.

After talking for about an hour he asked me if I was falling in love with him. "You so are! You're totally falling in love with me!" I just kept talking...." See! You're so in love with me you're not even listening!" Yeah cause that makes sense.

On the way back to the car he kept trying to get closer and closer. Till our arms could touch. I stuck my hand in my pocket. He continued to crowd me right off the trails! While we walked he let me know he had to get me how soon so he could prepare for the two other dates he had planned for that evening.

When we got to the car I was informed that because he bought me a Sobe I owed him a make-out session. NO.

When he pulled up to my friends house where my car was I jumped out and said "Bye! Gotta run! Don't want your car to get hit!" Then I ran away.

There is no amount of money I wouldn't have paid to see my face through all if this!!!!!
So, for your first date, guys do NOT:
1) ask the girl to drive
2) talk about marriage
3) talk about sex (human or animalistic mating rituals)
4) Never use the word fornication.
5) no matter how tempted do not talk about assaulting a woman
6) talk about wanting to break the law
7) Do not let your date know about your other date plans
8) Booty = off limits
9) tell about psychological problems (wait till later!)
10) tell her she owes you a make out session

I could keep going but in short just don't be this guy. That's all.

So I woke up this morning thinking it had all been a nightmare but no, this really did happen, true story!!!! Ha! Figured it MUST be documented. Names not used to protect... myself! LOL Writing it out served pretty decent therapy. I swear I enjoy going on dates and stuff, this dude was just nuts!

So girls, never accept an Orange Cream Sobe, or you will be expected to put out~

Welcome back to Mean Shitpon's Guide to Insanity! (Mostly to me, because
i'm the only person who looks at this :D

Rubber Band Theory
(Not to be confused
with String Theory)

So I have a new theory, about love.

Next time you give your heart away attach it to a rubber band.

Then, when that person tries to throw it, drop it, smash it, let go, or simply hand it back it will
bounce right back into your chest, no harm done.

The result will be a non-shattered vital organ.

(As soon as I figure out how to do this I will let you know.)
